THE new fishing season is well and truly up and running on the Great Pool at Himley Park.
Fishermen have already been reporting excellent fishing during the first two weeks of the season with Carp weighing 30lbs, Tench of 10lbs and Roach of 2lbs all in evidence and in good condition.
Senior Park Warden, Alan Peace, said: "The quality of the fish being caught in the early part of the new season demonstrates the benefits of the closed season.
"Fishermen can hopefully look forward to continued enjoyable sport on one of the premier fishing locations in the Midlands."
Charges for fishing remain unchanged for this season at just £4.60 for a day ticket with concessions at £2.30 on Mondays to Fridays.
Fishermen must have their valid Environment Agency Rod Licence and proof of entitlement if qualifying for concessionary rates.
