A KIND-HEARTED Wollaston woman is organising a fundraiser for Ronald McDonald House Charities in memory of her mum.
Teaching assistant Lucy Fletcher is hosting the event at St James’s Church Hall, Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, on Saturday October 28.
The event, running from midday to 3pm, will include stalls, games, a bouncy castle, Slush Puppie machine, tombola and a silent auction which will see a Manchester United football team signed pennant sold off for the charity.
Lucy says she’s organised the event in memory of her mum Jane Adams who died after developing sepsis as she fought cancer.
Jane, who was 64, had worked for the charity for 29 years as a lobby hostess and Lucy said: “It was the charity she always got us to do something for. It’s very close to our hearts. We’re hoping to get a room named after her.”
The charity, which has been going since 1989 in the UK, offers families chance to stay together while a child is undergoing medical treatment in partnered specialist children’s hospitals across the country.
