A STOURBRIDGE schoolgirl has been living her stage dream this week - starring in the the world's biggest panto with top TV stars Bradley Walsh and Martin Kemp.
Poppy Griffiths, aged nine, a pupil at The Ridge Primary School in Wollaston, appears as one of the 'lost children' and a pirate child in the Christmas pantomime production of Peter Pan being staged at Arena Birmingham from December 21 to 24.
J.M Barrie’s original story and characters are being brought to life by computer graphic imagery and a cast of more than 100 performers headed up by Bradley Walsh (host of TV quiz show The Chase) as Smee and Martin Kemp (Spandau Ballet/Eastenders) as Captain Hook.
Being performed across three stages, it also features a team of BMX riders, stuntmen, trapeze artists and a seven metre-long animatronic crocodile.
Poppy, who attends SOTE (School of Theatre Excellence) in Moseley, Birmingham, was picked to appear in the show after successfully auditioning for a part.
Her proud mum Rachel said: "Her confidence in performing has grown tremendously since joining SOTE just a few months ago.
"I am really proud of her. She's always wanted to be on the big stage and is having a fantastic time and amazing experience.”
The show runs until Christmas Eve. To find out more or to book tickets click here.
