POLICE have released CCTV footage of a break-in at a Wollescote home in a "determined" bid to catch those responsible.
Four suspected burglars were captured on video at the property in Oakfield Road last month, one of whom gestured to the camera after staring directly at it.
Police say offenders climbed over a neighbour’s fence and snapped a rear UPVC lock to gain access to the house at around 4am on December 18.
Officers believe they were looking for keys to a car parked on the drive, but instead walked away with a couple of gift cards and £4 cash.
Investigating officer DC Darren Barnes said: “The people responsible have shown a complete disregard for the victim.
"Not only breaking into his property, but by making a rude gesture to the camera.
“The value of what was taken may be relatively small, but this group could strike again so I am determined to catch them."
Anyone with information that may be useful is urged to contact DC Barnes on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Members of the public are asked to quote crime number 20DY/272504J/17 in all calls.
