THE Mayor of Dudley stopped by to officially open a new charity café in Stourbridge.
Councillor Dave Tyler opened the new Dudley Mind Café, Food for Thought, in Victoria Street, which the mental health charity has launched to help support its work in the borough.
The borough’s first citizen, who has picked Dudley Mind as one of his chosen charities for the year, was given a tour of the new facility which offers drinks and cakes and provides space for meetings and courses.
He also chatted to staff about the charity's work and the importance of fundraising and he said: “Dudley Mind is a cause very close to my heart which is why I chose it as one of my charities for the year.
"It was a real privilege to chat to some of their representatives and find out about the incredible work they do which really is a lifeline for the people who need it.
“It was also a pleasure to officially open the café and I urge everyone to pop along and enjoy some of the things they offer.”
Dudley Mind will be laying on a range of activities and courses at the café in the near future - to help promote healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.
For more information call the café on 01384 910246 or stop by for a coffee.
