A CHARITY It’s a Knockout event will take place next month in memory of Kingswinford schoolboy Daniel Banner.
The family-friendly event will be held at Dawley Brook Primary School in Kingswinford on Saturday June 9 and money raised will be donated in memory of Kingswinford School pupil Daniel, aged 12, who died in April 2017 after a short battle with lymphoma.
Daniel’s mum Alison Banner said: “It’s as close to his birthday as we could get it.
“We’re looking for teams of ten to sign up and people to help out on the day. There’ll be quite a bit going on – there’ll be prizes for the best dressed team, a tombola, cakes and food and there’ll be a bouncy castle for those who can’t take part.”
The challenge is suitable for anyone aged seven plus. Youngsters aged 14 and above will be classed as adults. The gates will open at 11am and the games will start at midday.
Money raised will be split between the children’s ward at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley, where Daniel was first treated, and the rest will go to research into lymphoma.
