SANTA will be stopping off in Hagley this weekend to kickstart the countdown to Christmas.
The festive figure will be touring the village streets with the Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) on Saturday December 1, and will be dishing out sweets to little ones along the way.
Santa’s grand tour will kick off in Park Road near The Lyttleton Arms from around 4.15pm and festivities will be taking place in the village until around 8pm.
Councillor Steve Colella, chairman of Hagley Parish Council and district councillor for Hagley West, will be switching on the Christmas lights at 6pm in Worcester Road, which will be part closed to traffic from 4pm until 8pm to enable the event to pass off safely.
There will also be a host of festive performances taking place ahead of the official switch-on and afterwards. Hagley Free Church will be putting on a nativity play, Hagley Primary School choir will be singing carols around the tree. There will also be performances from Hagley Theatre Group and Morris Men on the night.
