LONG-established Stourbridge Fencing Club are bidding to boost their ranks over the festive period by staging a demonstration and free taster session.
The event takes place at Stourbridge's Crystal Leisure Centre on Friday December 28 from 1pm until 5pm.
Anyone over the age of eight is invited to turn up and try their hand at fencing.
The club meet every Thursday during school term time at Pedmore Technology College in Grange Lane. The juniors, which comprises of 8 to 11-year-olds start at 6.30pm and from 7.30 for 12-18 years in addition to seniors.
Beginners courses for all age groups are set to start on January 10 which will be run by the club's own qualified coaches.
Over the years Stourbridge Fencing Club have enjoyed considerable success and have seen some of their fencers progress from local and national events to internationals.
The sport is open to all ages and abilities and can help promote many life skills including hand-to-eye co-ordination.
