A FESTIVAL style charity night will be held in Brierley Hill next week in memory of popular stage star Mitchell Bastable.
Mitch, who had performed with numerous amateur operatic societies over the years, died suddenly after suffering two bleeds on the brain in August last year.
The much-loved leading man had been due to marry his fiancée Beth Berwick-Lowe in 2020 - having proposed backstage after a performance of West Side Story at Stourbridge Town Hall just five months before tragedy struck.
Friends and family were left heartbroken by his unexpected death at the age of just 45 so to keep his memory alive a group have teamed up to organise #MitchFest2019 - a festival feel gig which will raise funds for The Stroke Association.
The event will take place on Friday April 19 at Brierley Hill Civic Hall.
Members of Mitch's former covers band Got The T-Shirt - Carl Cook, Al De Marco and Ben Kyle - will be performing, with guest singers taking to the stage to sing the tunes lead singer Mitch would have performed.
Operatic society stars will also be performing songs from shows that Mitch starred in including Copacabana, Summer Holiday and Sister Act and celebrity comedy impressionist Paul Burling will compere the evening.
Event organiser Sarah Coussens said: "The event will have a festival feel and be based around a Got The T-Shirt gig and set list - and in between the set we have some local operatic societies performing songs in honour of Mitch's passion for musical theatre."
The event will include a raffle with a host of top prizes up for grabs including tickets to a West End show with an overnight stay, dinner for two at The Ritz, football match tickets and more.

Doors open from 6.30pm and the entertainment starts at 7pm until late.
All proceeds will go to The Stroke Association.
