THOUSANDS of pounds have been raised to fund the funeral of a Brierley Hill youngster who passed away suddenly last week.
Brodie Palmer, aged 12-years-old, died in her sleep last Saturday (August 24).
Described as a ‘beautiful, happy little soul’, the youngster lived with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and epilepsy.
News of her sudden death sparked family friend Trudi Woodruff, from Stourbridge, to launch a Go Fund Me page to help Brodie’s devastated loved ones with funeral costs.
On the page, Trudi writes: “Her family are left completely devastated with a massive empty hole in their chests. There’s nothing that can help a grieving heart, especially after the loss of a child.
"I have no words. “
Donations have flooded in since the page was launched on August 27 and it has so far raised £3,540.
It is hoped the fundraiser will meet its £4,000 target, which can be donated to here: https://www.gofundme.com/f/in-memory-of-brodie.
Trudi said Brodie’s family have been overwhelmed with the generosity shown by people, with well wishers donating £2,000 in the first 24 hours to help fund Brodie’s final farewell.
Trudi added: “It’s not something they ever thought they would have to do at this point. We want to help the family so they don’t have to worry about the finances.”
