A FORMER Kingswinford pub is to be turned into a Wetherspoons as part of a multi-million pound redevelopment of the site.
JD Wetherpoons has confirmed it has purchased the site at the Cross on the High Street and will spend £2.6 million creating a new branch of the popular pub chain.
Sixty jobs are expected to be created when the Wetherspoons opens next year.
Building work at the site is expected to begin on September 30, with the pub set to open to customers on April 21 2020.
Eddie Gershon, spokesman for Wetherspoons, said: “We are looking forward to starting development work on our new pub in Kingswinford.
“We are confident that the new-look pub will prove popular with customers of all ages and be an asset to the town.
“Hopefully it will also act as a catalyst for other businesses to invest in the area.”
