HALESOWEN Town boss Morell Maison has admitted he is expecting to bring in yet another string of signings to the Grove including a striker with Premiership experience as he goes in search of his first win in charge.
Maison has been in the Yeltz hot seat for just over two weeks and has so far seen his side lose to Brackley in the FA Trophy and draw 1-1 at home to bottom of the table Cheshunt on Saturday, before following that up with a drab 0-0 draw away at Banbury on Tuesday evening.
The manager has already signed Darren Caskey, Kevin Spencer, Mark Osborn as well as last Friday's double acquisition of Chris West from Slough Town and Barton Rovers free-scoring Dean Brennan. But he stated he had upwards of 20 offers on the table for new players including one for a striker with Premiership experience who he hopes to have on board for Saturday's trip to Tiverton Town (3pm kick off).
Maison said: "I've got around 20 offers on the table for players and hopefully some of these will come off before Saturday.
"Realistically I would like to bring in around half a dozen more players to supplement the squad we've already got and we may have two or three of them in for Saturday.
"One of my targets is a striker I know well and he will give us the blistering pace up front I'm looking for.
"He's got Championship experience as well as a few appearances in the Premiership and I'm pretty hopeful this move can go through before the weekend but you can never be sure until a deal is signed and sealed."
Maison is hopeful an injection of pace and quality in the final third will help his side find the net more regularly as he feels a lack of cutting edge cost them dear in the last two games.
He said: "I thought we particularly played well on Saturday against Cheshunt and was delighted with the way the players have taken my views on board.
"We really should have won that game and the Banbury match but we just lacked that cutting edge up front as well as that bit of luck with us hitting the woodwork on five occasions."
The manager is not just looking to strengthen his playing squad but also his coaching staff, he has lined up another coach to help out.
While there are plenty of players moving to the club there is one face who has left in the shape of experienced centre back Gary Knight who's set to sign for BGB Premier Division rivals Bromsgrove Rovers.
