A DUDLEY man has received a suspended jail term for possessing a knife in the town centre.
Malakye Taylor, aged 18, of Harebell Crescent, Dudley, pleaded guilty at Dudley Magistrates Court to possessing a lock knife without lawful authority in Stone Street. The knife had a cutting edge blade measuring three inches. Taylor received a 16 week prison sentence suspended for 18 months and must follow a curfew for 16 weeks. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £212.
The following cases were also heard at Dudley Magistrates Court last week.
Kevin Davenport, aged 57, of High Clere, Cradley Heath, pleaded guilty to drink driving in Halesowen. He was fined £200 and ordered to pay £32 surcharge and £115 costs and was disqualified from holding a driving licence for 18 months.
Geoffrey Hoskins, aged 64, of Wedgbury Way, Brierley Hill, was found guilty of assaulting a police officer. He received a two year conditional discharge and was ordered to pay a £21 surcharge and £350 costs.
Waldemar Chochol, aged 38, of Ladywood Middleway, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to committing fraud in Sedgley by dishonestly opening a opening a bank account in another person's name. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and £185 costs.
Anthony Hall, aged 20, of Avenue Road, Dudley, pleaded guilty to possessing a knuckle duster without lawful authority in a public place. He also admitted possessing cannabis. He received a community order and must follow a curfew for three months. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £275.
Ian Harrison, aged 47 of Hackett Road, Rowley Regis, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. He received a community order and must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay £300 costs and a £90 surcharge.
Robert Matusz, aged 44, of Brookdale, Lower Gornal, pleaded guilty to drink driving on Shaw Road in Dudley. He was fined £100 and ordered to pay a £32 surcharge and £135 costs. He was also disqualified from holding a driving licence for 17 months.
Nasar Amir, aged 34, of Sandon Road, Lye, pleaded guilty to possessing a weapon designed to release pepper spray. He also admitted possessing cannabis. He received a community order and must carry out 120 hours of unpaid work over the next 12 months. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge and costs totalling £276.
Jason Hogan, aged 37, of Grange Lane, Stourbridge, pleaded guilty to two counts of stealing alcohol, speakers and headphones from B&M and Currys. He was jailed for 12 weeks due to a history for disregarding court orders.
Alexander Webb, aged 29, of Clent View Road, Halesowen, pleaded guilty to stealing £31 worth of food from Iceland. He was fined £235 and also ordered to pay £31 in compensation, a £32 surcharge and £135 costs.
