The Grove has been given a real international flavour today (Thursday) after Halesowen Town manager, Morell Maison revealed his two latest signings share something in common with both Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Figo.
The manager announced after weeks of negotiations he had agreed terms to bring Portugese duo Hugo Coelho and Eldon Martins Maquembe to the club.
The pair will both go into the squad for Saturday's BGB Premier Division trip to Swindon Supermarine and the manager is delighted to have them on board.
22-year-old Maquembe has signed from Swedish club Boden and Maison believes his pace and trickery will light up the Grove.
He said: "He's a striker with great pedigree and someone I have known about for a while.
"I was close to signing him when I was at Kettering but as soon as I took over here I was keen to bring him in.
"I've no doubt he has the ability to be a football league player because he has so much to his game.
"He's lightning quick, Has two good feet and although he's not particularly tall he's good in the air and I'm sure him and Dean (Brennan) will be a real handful.
"Since I was installed as manager I've wanted a strike force with plenty of pace and movement and I think we have that now although I'm still of hopeful of adding another forward to the squad pretty shortly."
Meanwhile the tall and athletic Coelho has been snapped up from Portuguese side Desportivo.
The manager is also hopeful of having Guy Lopez available for the Swindon fixture.
The midfielder who was picked up from Dorchester Town last Friday was stretchered off just 45 minutes into his debut in Saturday's 1-1 draw away at Tiverton.
However, the damage to his heel was diagnosed as just bad bruising so it's hoped he will be back in contention for Saturday's clash.
Two players who won't be in the manager's plans are Kevin Spencer who has been called back by Kettering Town and Chris West whose proposed transfer fell through.
There has been movement out of the club with Aaron Farrell signing for Rushall Olympic while Bromsgrove Rovers have completed the signing of Gary Knight.
The veteran defender is set for an immediate return to Halesowen when the Greens travel to the Grove next Tuesday for the derby clash.
