A WHISTLE-BLOWING Hagley doctor will be hosting a live non-political online event to address local residents' fears about the continuing coronavirus pandemic.

Dr David Nicholl - who stood as the Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Bromsgrove in last year's general election - will take questions on Facebook on Wednesday evening (April 15).

Residents can submit questions in advance via social media or during the event, which will be held on the Bromsgrove Lib Dems' Facebook page.

The Q&A featuring Dr Nicholl, who last year blew the whistle on fears among medics over a no-deal Brexit, will begin at 8pm.

Dr Nicholl says he will answer queries regarding the supply of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators to the NHS as well as giving an insider’s perspective on how the healthcare system is tackling the crisis.

Local Lib Dem activist Samuel Evans said: “It is great that David is giving up some of his time in his busy schedule to address questions from local residents and provide an inside perspective.

"Although this event is hosted on the Bromsgrove Lib Dems’ Facebook page we encourage local residents from all political persuasions to take part in this event irrespective of their views on politics.

"I also wish to pay thanks to the hardworking staff who are keeping us safe during this crisis."
