STAFF at Asda in Halesowen have teamed up with Halesowen Bid to donate 100 Easter eggs to a nursery at Russells Hall Hospital.

The kind gesture was made to spread some Easter cheer to youngsters at Tree Tops Day Nursery, which is based in the grounds of Russells Hall Hospital and is currently caring for the children of NHS staff working on the frontline against coronavirus.

Halesowen Bid were due to lead a host of fun Easter events this weekend, which were cancelled last month when the coronavirus crisis hit.

Rather than let the eggs which were planned to form an Easter trail go to waste, Vicky Rogers, manager of Halesowen Bid, joined forces with Neil Fox, general store manager at Asda, to ensure the treats go to the children of NHS staff.

Charlotte Carroll, manager of Tree Tops, said the gesture would mean so much to the parents, the majority of whom are working extended shifts at Russells Hall Hospital to keep people safe.
