A DUDLEY mum is spending self-isolation making delicious treats as a thank you to NHS staff on the frontline against coronavirus.

Annette Sibley has already made 250 cupcakes in a week from her home in Milking Bank for NHS staff across the Black Country and Birmingham.

The mum-of-two began a sideline in making cakes for family and friends before the crisis hit, but is now putting her baking talents to making treats for NHS staff.

Annette said: "I am currently self-isolating with my family as my son is waiting for heart surgery so I wanted to do something to fill the long days."

So far her creations have reached staff at the West Midlands Ambulance hub in Dudley; Russells Hall Hospital; Sandwell Hospital; New Cross Hospital and Birmingham Children's Hospital.

Following social distancing rules, Annette leaves the cakes on her doorstep moments before they are picked up and has been touched by people leaving donations of baking supplies on her doorstep so she can continue her baking.

She added: "People have been really generous leaving icing sugar and ingredients so I can carry on."

Annette makes her cakes under the name A Box Full of Happiness and orders can be made through her Instagram page, by following @box_fullofhappiness.
