A WOMAN who died after being hit by a car outside Russells Hall Hospital has been named as Deborah Williams, as the inquest into her death opened today.
Ms Williams, from Stourbridge, was hit by a vehicle after leaving the hospital following treatment during the early hours of Thursday, April 2.
The inquest into her death opened at Black Country Coroners Court on Friday (April 17).
The court heard how paramedics in a nearby ambulance stopped to help the 50-year-old, but she died at the scene.
Joanna Lees, area coroner for the Black Country, told the court that the medical cause of her death was multiple severe injuries caused by the trauma of the collision.
Mrs Lees adjourned proceedings until June 12 for the police investigation into the collision to continue and passed on her condolences to Ms Williams's family.
Earlier this month, West Midlands Police said a 57-year-old driver of the Range Rover involved in the collision stopped at the scene and was assisting police with enquiries.
West Midlands Police have been contacted for an update.
