POLICE are urging residents to be vigilant after a spate of burglaries or attempted break-ins in the Stourbridge area.

The Amblecote/Lye Neighbourhood Policing Team say they are investigating after receiving reports of five burglaries or attempted break-ins.

The first incident happened on Friday April 10 in Stourbridge Road, Lye, between 1am and 5am and saw offenders damage a window frame. They failed to gain entry, however, and made off.

The second incident was in Sevendwellings View, Amblecote, between 11.40pm on Saturday April 11 and 4.30pm on Sunday April 12. Two sheds were targeted and offenders also tried the back door to the property. Nothing was taken and the offenders fled.

Items were, however, taken from a property in Parkfield Road, Stourbridge, which was raided on Sunday April 12 between 5am and 5.37am.

A further incident happened at a home in Farm Road, Quarry Bank, on Monday April 13 between 1.40am and 1.49am where two offenders made an attempt to lock snap the rear upvc door. The pair were disturbed by the owner, however, and made off from the property.

A home in Turners Lane, Brierley Hill, was also targeted on Thursday April 16 between 1am and 3pm. The owner found damage to the front door but no one had managed to gain entry.

Stourbridge PCSO Neal Hunt said: "All the offences are being investigated by officers who have visited the offence locations or are in the process of visiting."

He urged residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious vehicles or people in the area to police on 101. He also urged residents in the streets mentioned to check if they have any CCTV footage of the relevant time periods.
