A HURST GREEN fish and chip shop which reopened after calls from customers is offering half price food to NHS workers, paramedics and police.
Nicki's Fish Bar in Hurst Green had closed for two weeks due to difficulties in obtaining supplies - but is now back up and running by popular demand.
The restaurant on Woodbury Road has been run by owners Nicki Andreou, aged 45 and her husband Panni Andreou, aged 48, for the last 14 years.
It has a five star hygiene rating from Dudley Council.
Mum-of-two Nicki said: "Lots of people asked us to reopen - we had lots of nurses and paramedics saying they would love to have fish and chips after a stressful shift at work.
"It's been really busy - we've had a brilliant response.
"People can phone orders in on 0121 4211394 and we can take the food out to their car.
"We are doing the special offer as a way to say thank you to the NHS staff for all their hard work.
"Being able to have fish and chips brings a bit of normality back to people's lives."
Only two people allowed in shop at one time, there's a plastic sheet up at the till area to protect staff and hand sanitizer is available for customers.
The shop reopened on Wednesday April 8 and has been doing a roaring trade since. It is open Monday to Saturday from noon till 2pm and from 4pm till 9pm.
