ARMED police and a helicopter swooped on Halesowen this morning after a report of a man carrying a rifle.
Officers received information that a man was seen carrying a rifle near Halesowen golf course in Leasowes Lane just after 9.30am this morning Thursday (April 23).
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "Armed officers and the helicopter attended and searched the area but the man was not found.
"A further call was made just before 11am from another member of the public who reported they had seen a man hiding in some bushes.
"We went back to the area and found a man who was doing some gardening work and not the person we were looking for earlier.
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact us via Live Chat or call 101 quoting log number 866 of 23 April."
