LAUGHTER yoga instructor 'Merrie' Maggie Thompson is aiming to bring smiles to people during the coronavirus lockdown by holding virtual classes online.

Maggie, who usually holds regular in-person laughter yoga sessions at Wordsley Green Community Centre, is running two 15 to 20-minute sessions per week from 5pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

She said: "These are all completely free as a contribution to community wellbeing during this difficult time."

People wishing to join in can download the Zoom app on their computer, tablet or smartphone.

There will also be a special 30-minute Zoom session this Sunday (May 2) from 11am as part of World Laughter Day which sees people across the globe laugh together for world peace.

Maggie said: "I have been running physical sessions for this event every year at Mary Stevens Park in Stourbridge for many years but due to COVID-19 it has had to be cancelled.

"But we have the technology so will run the event on Zoom."
