A SUSPECTED kidnap attempt is being investigated after a teenager was grabbed and pulled towards a car by a man asking for directions in Upper Gornal.
A 17-year-old was approached by a man in a white Mercedes asking for directions at the junction of of Holloway Street and Hill Street.
The man then grabbed the teenager and attempted to pull her towards the car, police say.
The teen managed to escape and ran off following the incident which happened at around 6.15pm on Thursday, April 30.
Police have launched an investigation and are reviewing CCTV.
A spokesperson from West Midlands Police said: "We are investigating a report of an attempted kidnap at the junction of Holloway Street and Hill Street, Dudley at 6.15pm on Thursday 30 April.
"A 17-year-old was walking when she was approached by a man in a white Mercedes car asking for directions. The man then grabbed the teenager and attempted to pull her towards the vehicle. Fortunately she managed to escape his grip and run away.
