THE death of a man in his 70s - found in a pool in Wordsley - is being treated as unexplained, police have said.
Officers discovered the man's body in a pool off Bells Lane after receiving reports just after 9.30am this morning (Tuesday September 29).
West Midlands Ambulance Service attended the scene having been alerted by police at 9.36am.
An ambulance, two paramedic officers, HART paramedics and a critical care paramedic were deployed but a spokesman for the ambulance service said: "A man was found in water. Sadly nothing could be done to save him and he was confirmed dead on scene."
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said the man was thought to be in his 70s and she added: "The death is currently being treated as unexplained but is not believed to be suspicious.
"Enquiries continue into the circumstances around his death and to identify his next of kin."
