A budding entrepreneur has gambled on moving 100 miles from home and his ability to overcome the problems of the pandemic to open a new takeaway in Brierley Hill.

Brioche Burger has opened in the town’s High Street with the aim of wowing people in the area with the quality of the food on offer.

Amin, 29, is a Business and Management graduate from Lancaster University who had a very comfortable life in his home city of Blackburn.

Having moved to Britain at the age of 13 from Iran, he had settled into a life of well-paid management roles, a ‘dream’ care and lots of family and friends.

But his dream of opening his own business – and eventually growing it into a nationwide operation – means he has given it all up for the delights and challenges of the Black Country.

Even the ‘dream’ Mercedes has gone, sold to help raise the £50,000 or so capital needed to take over the former Spicy Grill business and refurbish it for its relaunch as an upmarket burger shop.

Amin is concentrating on quality not variety, will the focus on freshly prepared traditional burgers, plus fish and pork ones, a vegan option, or pinwheel hot dogs. All, of course, with a brioche bun,and served in recyclable packaging.

The shop had a ‘soft opening’ around a week ago but is stepping up advertising with leaflets being delivered in the area and a Facebook page.

Ambitious Amin, a former manager of KFC and B&Q stores, says he’s certainly had his concerns about opening in a lockdown, but his ‘gut feeling’ says he is doing the right thing.

"What I have left behind shows how passionate and serious I am about this.”
