THE police helicopter was drafted in this morning to help with a police chase which saw officers swamp an almost derelict industrial site in Stourbridge.
Police cars and a police motorcyclist were seen in Old Wharf Road just before midday today (Monday March 22), while the police helicopter was circulating over the Stourbridge canal for some time.
A member of the public reported seeing masked men fleeing on foot, just off the ring road, and told the News a car had been dumped in Old Wharf Road.
Meanwhile, a woman told on Facebook how she'd seen a BMW driving round Stourbridge ring road "at great speed" and she said: "God knows how we managed to avoid him, thought we were going to die.
"The ring road was packed, they came on it at the Hagley Road bit. If anyone had been on the crossing they would have killed, it was bad enough for us avoiding them in the car."
