THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the West Midlands as thunderstorms are predicted for the end of the week.
Heavy showers and thunderstorms predicted for Thursday onwards may bring surface water flooding and disruption to travel, forecasters have warned.
Lovely warm temperatures of 28-29°C are expected to remain until Wednesday with skies turning cloudier in the afternoon but scattered showers are expected on Thursday, heavy at times and with a risk of thunder. Many areas should be dry on Friday and Saturday but some further showers are possible.
A weather warning for the region issued by the Met Office said: "There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services
"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures
"There is a small chance that some rural communities could temporarily become cut off by flooded roads."
