A FORMER Summerhill School student has graduated from the Army Foundation College.
Junior soldier Lewis Hayes, aged 17, has graduated after successfully completing his initial training.
After leaving Summerhill School in Kingswinford, Lewis wanted a career that would allow him to travel and offer an active lifestyle so he decided a life in the Army would suit him.
During his time at the Army Foundation College Lewis was awarded the title of Junior Company Sergeant Major and was on the winning team of the Inter-Company Football Competition.
After completing phase two of his training he will join The Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment, the infantry regiment of the north-west, and become a Kingsman - a rank unique to the regiment.
