STOURBRIDGE performers will soon be 'Back In The Spotlight' this week at Stourbridge Town Hall with a concert of songs from the musicals.
Mermbers of Stourbridge Amateur Operatic Society will be presenting music from West End shows that had to close at the beginning of the first Covid lockdown when they return to the stage this Friday (October 22) and Saturday October 23.
Audiences can expect to hear some firm favourites from musicals including Mary Poppins, Les Miserables and Phantom of the Opera, along with numbers from recent smash hits Everybody’s Talking About Jamie, Dear Evan Hansen and SIX.
Tickets cost £15.50 each and are available to book online at seaty.co.uk/bits
Director and choreographer Amy Williams said: “We have all missed live performance so much over the past 18 months and wanted to showcase all of the amazing West End shows that were so greatly missed when they closed abruptly last March.
"This brilliant mix of musicals really highlights the range and talent we have in Stourbridge and we’re so glad to be back on stage, having postponed our 2021 show Kinky Boots.
"It’s been wonderful to be back in the rehearsal room with friends and we cannot wait to share all of our hard work and all of the fun we’ve been having preparing for the show."
SAOS youth ensemble will also join the main company, taking centre stage for some family favourites from Matilda and School of Rock.
