The National Federation of Fish Friers (NFFF) has released its Official Guide to the UK’s Quality Fish and Chip Shops 2021 in collaboration with Sarson’s vinegar.
This guide tells customers where to find Britain’s best Fish and Chip shops who have received the NFFF Quality Accreditation. Among those accredited are 3 fish and chip shops in Stourbridge.
Whether you’re at the seaside, on a walk, or taking advantage of a cosy night in, a chippy tea can make your evening, especially if you’ve had it planned and been thinking about it all day.
In Britain, 382 million meals from fish and chips are eaten every year and ‘Chips’ and ‘Fish & Chips’ take the two top spots as the nation’s most popular British dishes, meaning they’re ahead of Roasts, English Breakfasts and bangers and mash.
Shops that feature in the guide are all participants of the NFFF Quality Accreditation scheme, supported by Sarson’s Vinegar.
The scheme identifies Fish & Chip shops that have undergone a thorough assessment of the premises and equipment, the working practices, hygiene standards and management controls as well as the quality and taste of the fish and chips.
Catherine Martin, Brand Manager for Sarson’s said: “We congratulate all the Fish & Chip shop operators across the UK that are featured in this year’s NFFF 2021 guide! As the UK’s number 1 vinegar brand, we share the NFFF’s value for the culture of Fish & Chips and are delighted to support this badge of quality recognising the best Fish & Chip shops, who work tirelessly to serve one of our nation’s favourite dishes.”
On the NFFF Quality Accreditation, Andrew Crook, said "The NFFF Quality Accreditation showcases the leading fish and chip takeaways across the UK, the shops that we all love to buy our fish supper from.
The NFFF Quality Accreditation assessment is extremely comprehensive. Achieving the NFFF Fish & Chip Quality Accreditation provides reassurance to customers that they are being served delicious food using high-quality ingredients. We encourage anyone who loves fish and chips to look out for the 'BIG Q' sign in the shop window.”
