UPDATE- The lorry has been removed and is clear of the bridge.

A LORRY has crashed into a bridge in Cradley Heath, causing rail disruption.

There are significant delays between Birmingham Snow Hill and Cradley Heath Train Station.

Firefighters were called to the incident on Cradley Road at around 9:45am on Friday, October 29.

West Midlands Fire Service say a plan is being formulated to remove the lorry, but the road may be closed for some time.

Police are also in attendance.

Network Rail say trains may be cancelled or delayed by up to 25 minutes.

Staff are inspecting the bridge, but rail users are asked to check National Rail for updates.

Birmingham new Street Network rail tweeted: β€œDue to a lorry hitting one of our bridges, trains through #CradleyHeath may be delayed Staff are on route to assess the damage Please check @nationalrailenq if you are travelling through the area.”
