STOURBRIDGE Police have been patrolling outside St James's Primary School in Wollaston this morning (Monday) as part of efforts to crack down on parking problems outside schools.
Officers were out early this morning on patrol outside the school in The Kingsway "making sure there were no parking issues" - they told the public on Twitter.
And they warned: "We will be continuing to do this and changing locations as the weeks go on."
Efforts to crack down on inconsiderate parking outside schools have been taking place across the borough in recent weeks.
Brierley Hill Police gave out warnings to drivers for dropping youngsters off on zig zag lines in front of Church of Ascension Primary School in Wall Heath on November 12 and parents with children at Gig Mill Primary School in Norton have been warned to park more carefully after residents complained their drives were being blocked completely by inconsiderate school run motorists.
Wollaston and Stourbridge Town councillor Nicolas Barlow welcomed this morning's patrols outside St James's Primary and he added: "It is frustrating that some drivers think it's ok to block drives, pavements and partially obstruct the highway then verbally attack you when you ask them not to."
