A QUARRY Bank hair salon has proved 'a cut above' the rest after scooping a top industry award.
Hair Emporium - Hair, Beauty & Skin Clinic, based in Quarry Bank High Street, won the Hair and Beauty Salon of the Year West Midlands award at The Great British Hair & Beauty Awards 2021 – Volume 2, held at The Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5 hotel on Sunday November 28.
The awards celebrate stars of the hair and beauty industries, from cosmetic companies and stylists, to hair and beauty businesses, academies and clinics - and they honour those who create beautiful looks, deliver exceptional customer services and work within businesses, clinics and practices where excellence is standard.
Salon owner Brynn Evans, who has been in the hairdressing industry for about 28 years, said: “I was delighted when I received my letter telling me I had made it to the finals.
"This year has been an incredible one for the salon. To be recognised by your peers as being one of the country’s leading hairdressers and being involved in the Great British Hairdressing Awards is both a wonderful feeling and a great achievement, plus we are the only salon outside Birmingham city centre to be in the finals.
"We are a small salon based in Quarry Bank and we beat around seven other salons to the title.
"I am totally overjoyed and amazed that we won."
He said the salon only moved to Quarry Bank two months ago after three years in Halesowen Road in Netherton.
A spokesperson for The Great British Hair & Beauty Awards 2021, said "The Covid-19 pandemic presented unique challenges for the hair and beauty industry with many businesses being forced to close and various restrictions being in place. However, many businesses have successfully adapted to the new challenges the industry has faced since the pandemic started."
“In recognition of this, the awards shine the spotlight on the talented professionals that have shown great passion, commitment and innovation for the beauty industry, who often don’t get the recognition they deserve."
