STOURBRIDGE'S own Ned's Atomic Dustbin made a triumphant return to the town this weekend for two sold-out shows.
All five original members of the group took to the stage at Stourbridge Town Hall last Friday and Saturday for two eagerly awaited gigs that were rescheduled from last year due to the pandemic.
It was the first time the original members of the band had played at the venue since 1988 and marked an emotional homecoming for the group, who shot to fame in the early 1990s.
Jonn Penney, vocalist with the band, said: "It was quite emotional, there was a point in Saturday's show when I said 'good evening Stourbridge, I never thought I would say it again'.
"There was a buzz around the town, the atmosphere was amazing."
The venue also held significance for the band as drummer Dan's father worked at the hall as a caretaker, while the band recorded their first EP 'The Ingredients' in nearby Enville Street.
Thanking the "phenomenal" crew, Jonn added: "Having an extended family of people there who have supported us all along was really special. It felt like a private party just for the Ned's.
"It felt nice to celebrate in the town where it all started for us."
