A STOURBRIDGE antique shop owner has put pen to paper to write a heart-warming children's book.
Dave Powell, who runs Grandad's Attic in Canal Street, was inspired to publish the book, entitled The Old Man Who Lived in a Falling Down Shed, by his three "wonderful granddaughters".
The 60-year-old former punk band bassist and original member of tribute act Bee Gees Fever also did the illustrations too.
Local scenes are hinted at in the book, such as the nearby river and canal, and Dave said: "People have said that the main character could be me in years to come."
The book tells the story of an old man who spends his days tending his plants and trying to repair his shed - keeping himself to himself and failing to realise his own talents until one day someone calls for help.
Told in rhyme, it is a story of selflessness, compassion and teamwork and has a strong morale message incorporated within it, but is delivered with a sense of humour designed to appeal to children and adults alike.
The Old Man Who Lived in a Falling Down Shed is priced £5.99 and available for collection from Grandad's Attic by The Bonded Warehouse, or it can be posted for £3.
