A BLACK Country singer-songwriter says she had a “really enjoyable” time on the teen version of reality show First Dates – despite not finding ‘the one’.
Mollie Hickman, from Pensnett, was matched up with aspring rapper Jay, a 19-year-old car salesman from Birmingham, on Channel 4's Teen First Dates.
The 18-year-old told the show’s famous French maître d'hôtel Fred Sirieix she had a lot to live up to as her parents met on a blind date about 25 years ago.
Despite hitting it off on-screen though – history did not repeat itself and Mollie and her date have remained friends.
The teenager, who is studying at BIMM Institute Birmingham, however, said programme-makers did a great job of matchmaking and that she and Jay may collaborate on a music project together.
She said: “Jay was a lovely guy; we bounced off each other and had the same interests with cars and music…we got on - on a friendship level. We’ve said we’re going to go to the studio together to produce music.”
Mollie admitted she has met someone else since filming took place in October but she said she would “100 per cent recommend” the experience for anyone looking for their perfect match.
She said: “Even if you don’t find love - it’s an amazing experience. It was really enjoyable.”
