MUCH-NEEDED advice and support for older people will be available as Dudley South MP Mike Wood hosts his annual Older People’s Information Fair.
The free event, at Wordsley's Richardson Hall on Friday May 27, will bring organisations together to offer advice and support for pensioners and those approaching retirement.
Age Concern, Dudley Carers Forum and Home Instead will be offering practical advice, while social groups and organisations such as Sgt Pepper’s Friendship Club, Wordsley Men’s Leisure Group and Wordsley 50+ Seniors Group will also be there to invite new members.
Mr Wood said: “In the internet age, it can be difficult for older people to find the information they need about the support and advice that’s out there – so I’m really pleased to once again be able to host my Older People’s Information Fair in person at the Richardson Hall.
“We’ve got all sorts of organisations attending on the day, including Dudley Council, West Midlands Police, Barclays Bank, Wiltshire Farm Foods and many more. Lots of fantastic local social groups will also be there, so I hope the event will be really useful to local people.”
Doors will be open from 10am to 1pm and there's no booking required.
Free car parking will be available on the Mere Education Centre car park, Lawnswood Road, Wordsley, DY8 5PQ.
