TEAMS from across England and Wales will be taking part in a fun festival to mark 10 years of disability cricket at Oldswinford Cricket Club.
The event, which will be held at the club’s ground in Albemarle Road on Sunday June 19 from 1pm, will comprise a friendly tournament with all teams getting chance to play matches throughout the afternoon in the hope of being crowned the Oldswinford Celebration Day Champions.
Sixty participants are expected across seven teams representing the host club, Brewood, Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Wales and Warwickshire.
Lyndsey Beynon, disability development officer at Worcestershire Cricket Board, said: “We are very proud of Oldswinford CC and their fantastic achievement of running SEND sessions in the community for 10 years.
“Volunteers at the club have worked tirelessly to ensure Friday night cricket provides a friendly, positive and supportive environment for participants regardless of their disabilities.
“As well as a celebration of disability cricket, the festival will showcase the fantastic work that the club has done over the past decade and offers an opportunity to thank all those involved within the group including players, parents and volunteers.”
