A NEW pressure group is being launched this month to campaign on environmental issues across Dudley.
Friends of the Earth is calling a public meeting to show what a borough group could achieve - following last month's campaign in Stourbridge, Brierley Hill and Dudley as part of a national day of action on climate change.
Guy Sheppard, one of the participants from Kingswinford, said: "Apart from encouraging local people to sign postcards in support of the campaign to make the Government take climate change more seriously, it reminded local MPs about how concerned their constituents are about this issue."
Louise Hazan, West Midlands network developer for Friends of the Earth, said a borough group would give people concerned about the environment a way to make their voices heard and encourage change.
She added: "It could campaign on local issues like transport and recycling as well as national issues like climate change."
The meeting takes place at 7.30pm on Tuesday May 20 at Brierley Hill Scout HQ, Nine Locks Community Centre, Hilll Street, Brierley Hill.
