CHAIRMAN Audrey Phipps welcomed the Elenvale Singers Ladies Choir to our meeting on May 1st.
Business was kept short. Apologies were given. Pam Ingman read the minutes of the April meeting, these were agreed. The treasurer, Sheila Evans gave the financial report which shows we hold a good balance. There are still a few places left on the Chester trip, visitors welcome; coach fare £8.00 - £10.00 dependent on numbers.
At next month's meeting on 5th June we celebrate our 45th anniversary. This will be in the form of an afternoon tea party. A celebration cake and liquid refreshments will also be provided. Prior to eating there will be a light-hearted competition which we hope most people will enter into. This evening is for members only.
A luncheon will be arranged for late September or early October, probable venues The Stone Manor or The Granary.
A very enjoyable evening was then spent listening to the Elenvale Singers.
They were accompanied by their pianist Ray. The conductor, Mr David Richards, introduced the choir and gave an informative and amusing resume of the shows and composers as the choir gave renditions from the sixties era,American musicals and the British show "Joseph".
A vote of thanks was given by Frances Smith.
Raffle prizes went to Betty Fenton and Ann Cooper.
