CAUSEWAY United chairman Steve Hulston has praised the club's management and players after their best ever league season and said he will be looking for a championship push next term.
United finished sixth in their first season ground sharing at Stourbridge, under the guidance of young manager Carl Burley and assistant Andy Mole in the Midland Alliance.
It was the nomadic club's highest ever league finish and Hulston, though delighted with this, feels the set up is in place to go for the championship next season.
He said: "The team surpassed expectations under Carl because he is a young lad and new to management but he has took to it like a duck to water.
"He has made sure everyone has a professional approach from the players to the backroom staff and the results have been seen on the pitch.
"At one stage we were looking at a top three finish in the league which was reflected in the fact we applied for promotion which we are still waiting to hear about.
"But if we don't go up then next season I am looking to win the Midland Alliance outright and we have the management and team in place to do that.
"Carl is learning all the time and I have never met anyone so enthusiastic about the job - already he is talking about the plans for next season and what players he wants to bring in and we have only just had the end of season dinner.
"Seriously though I have no doubt other clubs will in the near future be looking to secure his services, because he has a bright future."
Hulston said the only disappointing aspect of the campaign had been the FA Vase exit at Boston Town after last season's final 32 appearance but he was hoping this would be put right next season.
Off the field, Causeway are developing a training area at Amblecote specifically for there own use and have signed a seven year lease with their landlords.
At the club's end of season dinner, Stuart Howe won the manager's player of the year and top scorer award, whilst Ben Stretton won the supporters and players gong.
Defender Matt Hollis, who turned down an offer from Halesowen Town to spend the last 11 years with Causeway was honoured with a special award for his loyal service.
