Hagley Golf Club's scratch team continued their sensational start to the season last Saturday with victory at the picturesque Bewdley Pines.
A strong team was selected by Hagley in an attempt to counter Bewdley's home advantage.
Matt Willetts, Steve Carpenter and Mike Holmes led the field, with only Willetts coming away with a half. Ashley Rudge, Steve Watton and Pete Gwilliam all had fine victories in the middle order, leaving Hagley one up with two rubbers remaining.
Although struggling with a chest infection ,captain Colin Day fought manfully, but without success leaving the match all square.
The final rubber saw Kevin Johnson, in a match which mirrored the whole fixture of ups and downs ,hole a four foot return putt on the 18th green to half not only his own rubber but the match as well, leaving Hagley now unbeaten in three matches.
