A WORDSLEY man's naked ambition is set to be realised this week when he reveals all in a stage production of The Full Monty.
Mark Horne from Alwen Street is one of six men set to bare all in the racy show, which opens at Birmingham's Crescent Theatre tomorrow (Friday May 23).
The 32-year-old amateur actor is taking on the role of Malcolm, one of a group of out of work steel workers who - fed-up of having no money and no future - decide to form their own stripping troupe as a way of making some quick cash.
He said: "Malcolm is a bit of a geek, he still lives at home with his mum and feels very alone.
"However as the story progresses, we see Malcolm turn a corner and his confidence comes on as his clothes come off."
Unfit, overweight and with no experience whatsoever, the group of misfits rehearse in secret and soon despair of having any chance of succeeding. But the gung-ho guys have a trump card to play...they are prepared to go all the way!
The funny yet touching show is a million miles away from Mark's day job as customer services manager for Platinum Training in Dudley.
But the office worker with a passion for drama can't wait to ditch the day clothes and get into his birthday suit in the final scenes of the play.
He said: "It's been really quite liberating and although I've never stripped off for a production before, I'm really excited about it now and can't wait for the show to start. We're hoping it's not going to be too cold on stage."
He is also looking forward to singing with a live orchestra, adding: ""I was a jackpot winner on Michael Barrymore's My Kind of Music a few years ago and absolutely loved singing in front of an audience.
"The Full Monty is a fantastic musical production and I know people are going to love it."
The production runs on Friday May 23, Saturday May 24 and from Tuesday May 27 to Saturday May 31.
Evening performances start at 7.30pm in The Main House, and matinee shows take place on Saturday May 24 and Saturday May 31 at 2.30pm.
A charity night in aid of Cancer Research will be held on Tuesday May 27.
Tickets cost £12 (concessions £11).
