THE May meeting was opened by Leader Jenny Edwards, with apologies from a few members due to holidays or illness.
Jenny gave a special welcome to Jane Collins who has recently returned to the village after a period of absence.
Following our short act of worship and a few notices for members, Jenny introduced our speaker for the afternoon, Angie Hilley.
Angie was making a welcome return visit to our branch as we had all enjoyed one of her talks on previous occasion.
Taking as her subject "Does Age Really Matter?", Angie touched on most aspects of age and how it affects us - whether young or old, it's physical and mental limitations and benefits, prejudice and discrimination, experience and the wisdom which hopefully comes with that experience.
Summing up, Angie felt age does not matter, what matters is how we allow our life experiences to influence us as people. Jan Woolley thanked Angie for her talk and presented her with a gift.
Our next meeting will be a discussion, making time for relationship'. This will be on 5th June in Clent Village Hall at 2pm.
Members please note: Diocesan Festival at St Mary's, Kingswinford at 7:30pm. Anyone requiring transport please see Jenny.
NB: Don't forget the Coffee Morning on Thursday, 15th May at 10:00am in the village Hall.
See you there!
