ON Monday 12th May, the club welcomed Mrs Lyn Wherrett NAFAS Area Demonstrator from Earl Shilton, her title for the evening was 'Seasonal Splendour.' Mrs Wherrett's arrangements were colourful and varied and she entertained her audience with amusing tales of her family and friends. The floral arrangements were raffled in the usual manner at the end of the evening. Mrs Freda Worton Vice-Chairman was in charge of the proceedings in the absence of Chairman Michael Handy.
Members had the opportunity to bring and buy at the Plant Stall, where a good selection was available from member's gardens, funds raised will contribute towards the clubs Golden Anniversary Celebrations in 2009.
Social Secretary Mrs Pearl Lovell outlined a proposed visit to Bridgemere later in the year, and members were invited to express their interest.
The vote of thanks was given by President Thelma Higgs, who gave the Clubs Best wishes to Mrs Wherrett for her future house moving.
Our next meeting will be held on Monday 2nd June, where Mrs Jayne Edmonds a NAFAS National Demonstrator from Coventry, presents 'Threaded with Beauty.' The club meets on the first Monday of each month at the Elton Centre, visitors are very welcome, further details from 01384 377593.
