DUDLEY housing customers will soon have a high-tech solution to viewing and bidding for council properties.
Council chiefs are set to launch an expansion of their choice based lettings service, Dudley at Home, allowing people on the housing resister to bid for homes through their TV screens.
From Wednesday June 11 customers will be able to access available homes via the council's Digi TV site on interactive satellite and cable TV.
The pilot scheme will feature properties in Halesowen and Stourbridge and bosses hope a full, borough-wide, list will be available from October.
Viewers will be able to access the service by pressing the interactive button on their remote control and following links to local services.
Cllr Michael Evans, cabinet member for housing, said: "We hope this will give all residents on our housing register another simple way of bidding for properties from the comfort of their living room."
