A KINGSWINFORD charity shop is celebrating after boosting its earning power by joining a scheme which adds extra cash to sales.
The Tenovus group, which has a shop in Market Street, recently signed up to an extension of the Gift Aid scheme, allowing them to claim 28p for every pound on all donated items they sell.
Previously the cancer charity was only able to claim the extra cash on monetary donations, Tenovus workers say the new initiative will add extra value to donations.
Helen Weir, retail operations manager for Tenovus, said: "Now that Tenovus has signed up to the gift aid scheme, there's even more of a reason for people to hand in unwanted items because they know their donations are going that much further."
