A POPULAR autumn family fun weekend is set to return to Stourbridge this month after a two-year hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Stourbridge Navigation Trust’s annual open weekend will take place at The Bonded Warehouse and the Stourbridge Canal on Saturday October 15 and Sunday October 16, from 10am to 5pm on both days.

The free event – the trust’s biggest fundraiser - will see more than 30 narrowboats rally on the waterway and there will also be a display of classic vehicles, children’s rides, food and craft stalls, live music and a real ale bar.

A spokesperson for the trust said: “We hope that after a two-year absence it will be a great success and enjoyed by the local community.

“The event is free to enter but Canal Street will be closed to non-authorised vehicles for safety reasons whilst the event is ongoing so public parking will need to be found on nearby streets.”
