STOURBRIDGE Royal British Legion is hosting making plans for this year’s Remembrance Sunday parade.
The event remembering those who lost their lives in combat will take place in Mary Stevens Park, Norton, Stourbridge, on Sunday November 13, at 10.45am ahead of a minute’s silence at 11am and a service and wreath-laying ceremony at the cenotaph.
All groups set to take part are invited to attend a pre-parade meeting at Stourbridge Royal British Legion in Enville Street, Stourbridge, on Wednesday October 26 at 7.45pm.
The parade is expected to comprise around 30 veterans, Army cadets, Army reservists, police cadets, the RAF marching band, Brownies, Scouts and Guides.
Meanwhile, the legion is gearing up for its annual poppy appeal which will run for two weeks from Saturday October 29.
Last year’s appeal saw just over £30,000 raised to help ex and current members of the armed forces and their dependants and carers.
