THE sun shone through and the crowds turned out as Stourbridge played host to a parade of military vehicles on Saturday November 12 as part of Remembrance commemorations.
Vintage vehicle enthusiast David Spruce organised the procession which featured 34 military vehicles and pipers from the Shirley Pipe Band.
The parade started at 11am at the top of the High Street and the vehicles finished up at The Bonded Warehouse where they were put on display.
David and his friends decided to stage the event – having displayed their military vehicles in the town to raise funds for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal for many years.
The event had not taken place for a few years, in part because of Covid, but it was decided to get it up and running again and bring it alive with a parade, which was sponsored by Stourbridge Shuttle operator Pre-Metro.
David said afterwards: "We had an amazing turn out. There were huge crowds in the High Street and an amazing atmosphere.
"I'd like to say a massive thank you to everybody who supported my idea.
"Fingers crossed I will do it again next year."
